Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary - this is the great Orthodox holiday, which is celebrated on 14 October. Installed it in honor of Andrew Simpleton phenomenon - the saint of Slavic origin, who lived in the capital of the Byzantine Empire - Constantinople, the Mother of God. It happened in the Blachernae church, which was located near the Imperial Palace, and which kept a robe of Our Lady.
