The then emperor ordered to cut off St. John of his right hand and hang it on the market for all to see. Only at the end of the day Saint John pleaded with the evil Emperor to give him a hand. With a severed wrist to the hand 'man of God he began with tears to beg the Mother of God before her icon of healing. Toward morning he fell asleep from exhaustion and woke up some time later, he saw that the hand well and the brush as if he was not cut off. Filled with joy and gratitude, the Queen of Heaven for the miraculous healing, he poured pure silver hand and pressed it to the icon. From this icon was called Three Hands.
