The Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God
Before Our Lady of Tikhvin orthodox Christians often ask for the intercession of the Mother of God and the help in a journey and travels. It is said to be one of the icons written by St. Luke the Evangelist. Till 1383 the icon was in the capital of the Byzantine Empire - Constantinople, and then disappeared and miraculously was found by a simple fishermen near the town of Tikhvin. Many miracles have been revealed through this wonderful image, praised the icon for the entire Christian world.
