Icon of Christ Pantocrator - is a central image in the iconography of the church. In it the Lord to be as King of all things in heaven and judge. In Greek, this image is called the Pantocrator, that is all-powerful.
The image of Christ Pantocrator adorns most Orthodox churches, both in the form of icons, and in the form of frescoes and paintings. Most often, the Lord is depicted sitting on a throne with the Gospel in hand and a gesture of blessing. Also you can find a way to the top of the dome space.
The oldest known icon of the Lord Almighty is in the Sinai monastery, and refers to the 6th century.
