Saints Nina Enlightener of Georgia, was born about 280 years in Kolastry in Cappadocia, where there were many Georgian villages. Her father Zabulon came from a noble family. St. Nina's mother, Susanna, was a sister of the Patriarch of Jerusalem (some call it Juvenal).
Having learned that Georgia is not yet illuminated by the light of Christianity, St. Nina prayed day and night, the Blessed Virgin Mary, so that she has helped her to see Georgia hristianskoy.Sovershiv her apostolic service in Georgia, St. Nina was notified of a death. In a letter to the king Mirian she asked him to send a bishop John that he has prepared for her last journey. Not only Bishop John, but the king himself, together with all the clergy went to Bodbe, where the death bed of St. Nina witnessed many healings. To receive the Holy Eucharist Nina bequeathed to her body buried in Bodbe and peacefully departed to the Lord in the year 335.
