St. Sergius of Radonezh from a young age followed the example of the first Christian hermits and went into seclusion for the deaf and prayers forest. Having built a small church later, it gave rise to the base of the monastic cloister, which later became known as the Monastery of St. Sergius. There he spent his life, constantly practicing prayer and spiritual feats. The fame of the ascetic sold to distant lands, and everywhere for him started coming and coming people on foot, asking for his prayers for them. The Lord did many miracles through the prayers of St. Sergius. No one is left not heard of this monastery. All the holy man took and spiritually taught. To him even came Prince Dmitry Donskoy, asking for blessings on the war with the Tartars. Having lived a pious life and prayer, St. Sergius died peacefully and departed to the Lord, leaving us an example of impeccable life in Christ.
