The Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Volodymyr is one of the most significant figures of Christianity in Ukraine, also known as the Baptist of Rus. During his lifetime he did a lot for Kievan Rus, expanded the limits of the capital Kiev, annexed many Slavic tribes to the state, built the Tithe Church, founded Vladimir, Pereyaslav and many other cities. As personal emblem used the trident, which later became the national emblem of Ukraine.
