It is accepted that the wedding icons are bought by the parents of the young (from the young side). Also allowed to participate in the purchase of images of the newlyweds. This is a purely family matter.
Concerning the blessing of icons, Ukrainian traditions provide the following actions. Each side must have in its house a couple of icons of the Savior and the Virgin. These icons in the parental home each parent (separately) give a blessing to their child. This is the first blessing. The second blessing occurs after the wedding. First, the blessing is given to the groom's parents. Later, the parents of the bride bless the children.
