The Saints Savel, Manuel and Ismail were brothers and came from the family of a noble Persian Gentile. Their mother was a Christian and raised sons in her faith and they were baptized by the presbyter of Evnoik. In adulthood, they were enrolled in the army of the Girene king Adamundar. During the pagan holiday in Chalcedon they refused to take part in it, which caused the wrath of the king. After the brothers refused to renounce the Christian faith, they were tortured and beheaded.
