The Peresopnytsia Gospel in a silver setting

In 2011, the international community celebrated the 450th anniversary of the birth of the Ukrainian Pervoknigi - a handwritten masterpiece called both in Ukraine and abroad. This saint for the Ukrainian relic reflects their fate as an Orthodox people, constitutes an undeniable value for the entire Orthodox world, for learning the language and culture of all the Slavs. Moreover, the translation of the Gospel into Old Ukrainian is an act of the entry of our language into the circle of world languages, and was admitted by the Church as the language of the sacred Liturgy.

Fate carefully protected the Peresopnytsia Gospel, which passed from generation to generation. Hetman Ivan Mazepa and Taras Shevchenko, scientists, artists, statesmen of the 16th and the 13th centuries held it in their hands and admired him.
