Syria, this small Middle Eastern country, suddenly became the main pain point of the planet. The events taking place on the ancient Syrian land have, of course, an economic background, but still it is much more important today to see their main - the spiritual meaning. That is why in this book the conversation about the political situation in the Middle East is preceded by a narrative about the events of the Holy History related to Damascus, the great Christian ascetics of Syria, the centuries-old experience of the coexistence of Christianity and traditional Islam in this country.

It is said that every country and people has their Guardian Angels, and, of course, the grace of the Syrian ascetics keeps this holy land. Let us hope that the Monk Ephraim the Syrian, the father of weeping and repentance, will pray for repentance and deep knowledge of Christ for his people.
