Holy Martyr Veronica lived and suffered during the period of completion of the era of Emperor Diocletian's reign. It was about the year 304 when the persecution of Christians was officially permitted. Saint Veronica with her sister and mother trying to escape from his pursuers from the Syrian city of Antioch went to Aedesius. But their hopes of rescue were not justified. Already in their Aedesius they were captured by Syrian soldiers. The martyrs under escort were sent back to Antioch.
