On the front side of the cross in the center is the icon of the Savior in Power, with the Evangelists in the crosshairs. In Orthodoxy, there are special images of Christ, in front of which they most often pray for soldiers. Warriors usually pray at this icon before battles - for help and intercession in the face of the enemy. Mothers pray for sons serving in the army. On the extremities of the cross are icons of Orthodox saints-warriors, glorified by feats of arms and a fortress in Vera.
On the back of the cross is the icon of the Archangel Michael on horseback. Saint Michael is one of the archangels - the highest creation of God, having his own name, will and supernatural abilities. He leads the heavenly host, fighting with his fallen brother - Lucifer. In the Orthodox Church, he is called the Archangel, that is, the head of the holy army and is revered as the patron of all warriors. Archangel Michael gallops over the world on a red winged horse, blowing a fiery trumpet. In one hand he holds a book, and in the other a cross or a trident. The fiery horse tramples underfoot a dragon or a freak, symbolizing the leader of evil forces.
