Mother of God of Tenderness Icon was cell icon of St. Seraphim of Sarov. St. Seraphim called a shrine of All Joy Joy and revered it as Samu Pure Mother of God. Infirm and sick people holy man smeared with consecrated oil from the lamps always burning before the icon in his cell. So he healed from all illnesses, mental and physical, of pilgrims who came to him. In front of this holy icon, on his knees and clasped his arms crosswise, and Seraphim reposed January 2, 1833.
