St. Julia († about 640) was born in Carthago in the Christian family. In 625 Carthago was occupied by Persians. At that time St. Julia was a child, but she was taken as prisoner and sold into slavery to a Sirian merchant. Despite the fact that she lived surrounded by heathens St. Julia managed to keep her faith. She prayed a lot kept fasts and her chastity. St. Julia also served her master with humbleness and resignation, but only if her service did not conflict with her belief. No power on earth could force her to do things that would contradict with her faith.
St. Julia is commemorated by the Orthodox Church on July 29 (16).
