Tsarina Alexandra Fedorovna Romanova was the wife of the last Russian emperor Nicholas II. She was a German princess by birth, and was called to her before marriage with Tsar Victoria Alice Elena Louise Beatrice of Hesse-Darmstadt. Before the wedding, she accepted the Orthodox faith with great jealousy and remained faithful to her until death.
Alexandra Feodorovna fell into great trouble. Together with her husband they passed side by side through a series of wars, revolutions, turmoil, betrayals and lies. She gave birth and brought up five children. Widely engaged in charity. Under her personal care there was a huge number of shelters, charitable societies, communities of nurses, disabled homes and so on.
Her earthly let her husband and children she went through. After the February Revolution of 1917 she was imprisoned with her family under house arrest, and then all of them were exiled to Tobolsk and further to Yekaterinburg.
There she, her husband and children, received martyrdom through execution. July 17, 1918, they were killed by the Bolsheviks in the basement of an abandoned house.
The queen of Alexander, together with Tsar Nicholas and children, was glorified in the face of the holy martyrs. Their remains are buried in the Peter and Paul Cathedral of St. Petersburg.
