Saint Milica was the wife of the holy prince Lazar, who died during the Kosovo battle in 1389, defending the Holy Church from Muslims. She ruled the people until her son grew up, Stefan. In 1393, she entered the Zhupanivach monastery near Krushevak with the name Eugenia. When her son, in 1402, for a time left the country, she, despite the monastic order, ruled the state. Saint Milica took care of widows, taking into the monastery many wives, whose warrior husbands fell on the battlefield; Helped build and supported many monasteries and churches. At the end of her life she accepted a great schema with the name of Euphrosyne. After her death she performed many miracles.
