“Matronushka,” the Orthodox saint is affectionately called for the amazing love and help that she gives to everyone who needs her support. The life of the saint (1885-1952) fell on the most difficult years of our history: wars, revolutions, persecution of the Church, the ruin of the peasantry... Many physically healthy people lost their courage. But Matronushka was miserable - she was born blind, and at the age of sixteen her legs were taken away. But the power of God is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). For her pure faith and prayerful compassion for her neighbors, the Lord already at the age of 7 rewarded the saint with the gifts of spiritual reasoning, healing and insight. And people reached out to the girl for help. Until 1925, Blessed Matrona lived in her native village of Sebino in the Tula province and received the afflicted at her home. The new government forced her to move to Moscow, where until the end of her life, hiding from persecution, she wandered around other people's apartments. And every day, not knowing rest, she continued to receive people who came to her with their troubles, mental and physical pain. She refused to help anyone, and never took anything, and before her death she promised: “Everyone, everyone, come to me and tell me, as if alive, about your sorrows, I will see you, and hear, and help you.” Blessed grave. Matrona is located at the Danilovsky cemetery, the memory is celebrated on May 2/April 19, September 3/August 21, October 5/September 22.
