During his lifetime, the Saint Great Martyr George the Victorious was a brave man and a good warrior. During the Diocletianic Persecution in the Roman Empire, he defended the faith to Christianity and fought for justice, distributed his property to the poor, which is why he was subjected to eight days of torture. Even in terrible agony and after long persuasion, George did not betray himself and did not deny Christ, for which at the end of the eighth day of torture he was decapitated.
Saint George the Victorious is considered as the patron of warriors and farmers. Believers turn to him in prayers for protection from evil forces, for the harvest, for the rain and healing from illness.
